Began drumming in high school with Black Velvet. They worked and recorded with famed R&B songwriter Harvey Scales and Bill Withers. Opened up for groups Tavares and Blue Magic and released a single "If you give some lovin". Lovie was later a drummer for Gospel sensation Bennie Henderson and Family and a session drummer for many local artist. Currently reunited after 20 years with Black Velvet guitarist Carleton and Race "Da Bass" in the hard driving rock group Ohm Powah! His influences are drummers Billy Cobham, Narada Michael Walden, Tony Williams and Buddy Miles. Groups Weather Report, Led Zepplin, James Brown and Parliment Funkadelic to name a few.
